Sickle Cell awareness, encourages families to learn their sickle cell status before having children. Education and early screening are powerful tools that can help reduce the number of children born with sickle cell disease. Brick Rose mission is to help parents understand the importance of knowing their blood traits, making informed family-planning decisions, and advocating for quality healthcare and support for those affected by the disease.

when both parents have sickle cell trait (AS), each pregnancy has a 25% (1 in 4) chance of a child having sickle cell disease (SS), a 50% (1 in 2) chance of a child having sickle cell trait, and a 25% chance of having neither trait nor disease. The risk is different if one parent has sickle cell disease and the other has trait or normal hemoglobin. This is why it is important to get tested for Sickle Cell Trait.
