Ronald Campbell Foundation

Ronald Campbell was a two time Golden Glove Champion from Brooklyn New York.  As a born protector, he would protect his family members and neighbors from bullies and he also encouraged them to put the guns down and fist up. Ronald would teach his friends and family self defense and boxing techniques to keep them safe from bullies. Unfortunately our Champion, Ronald has left us too soon on August 13, 2023. Ronald Rondu Campbell was born on March 28th, 1974, at Brookdale Hospital in Brooklyn, NY, to the late Samuel Ronald

Campbell and Vanessa Michelle Brown. He was the eldest of six

beloved siblings. Ronald's journey began in the vibrantneighborhoods

of Brownsville and East New York in Brooklyn, where he learned the

early lessons of life. His educational path took him through P.S and JHS 265 in Brooklyn, New York, and he proudly graduated from Chelsea Career Technical Education High School in New York, New York. Ronald's determination led him to achieve his OSHA certification in New York as well. Early on, Ronald developed a passion for boxing, influenced by his

father's legacy as a professional boxer. Samuel, a true sportsman, passed on his love for the sport to his son, and Ronald quickly revealed his

innate talent. Known for his infectious smile and positive attitude, he

was affectionately dubbed "Smiley." Ronald's boxing journey was marked by his dedication and skill. As an amateur, he began boxing at Schwartz P.A.L in Brooklyn where he became a three-time Golden Gloves champion before transitioning to the professional arena,

amassing over 150 fights. Yet, his impact reached beyond the ring.

Ronald took the role of mentor, investing time and support in guiding

young boxers to their aspirations. Throughout his life, Ronald embraced his roles as a caring protector and a devoted family man. Nicknamed "Boo" and "Smiley" by those close to

him, he held dear the values of unity and togetherness. Family

gatherings held a special place in his heart, and he was a staunch

advocate for the strength found in familial bonds.

Ronald's legacy continues through his treasured daughters, Diamond

Court and Indya Campbell, and his cherished grandchildren, Kassidy

Court and Kahlil Kennedy. His impact extended to his siblings, with

whom he shared an unbreakable bond: brothers Michael Loyd of Utica,

NY, Bernard Brown, and Charles Brown; sisters Samantha Campbell of

Orlando, FL, Alisha Loyd Branch of Queens, NY, and Bernice Brown.

Ronald's family extended to seven nieces—Nia Celeste, Taylor, A'rell

Patrick, Myeesa Grant, Corinne Weather, Carllishia Patrick, Ni'zeria

Patrick, and Empress Sims—and eight nephews—Azel Campbell, Carl

Patrick Campbell, Nizere Patrick Campbell, Artis Johnson, Kuran

Weather, Dashad Hurst, Destin Loyd, and Jahlil Loyd.

Ronald's vast circle of love encompassed his aunts—Sandra Campbell,

Carol Campbell, Helen Brown, Bernadine Brown, Lois Brown, Cynthia

Brown, and Robin Brown—his uncle Lee Brown, his stepfather Michael

Loyd Sr, and his foster parents Othelia-Alice Branch and Johnnie Jessie.

His legacy continues through the many cousins, foster siblings, and

friends who shared his journey.

Ronald Rondu"Smiley" Campbell spirit lives on in the hearts he

touched, and his memory serves as a reminder of the enduring power of

love, family, and a life lived with passion. As we celebrate his life and

the impact he made, may his legacy inspire us all to embrace each

moment with joy and unity.
